This Saturday and Sunday will be the Richardson’s Farm Trip (Note: We are not going on Friday, arrive here on Saturday at 8 am)
The bonfire will be around 8 pm, invite your friends and people who might be interested in joining the troop! If you wish to stay overnight, bring warm clothes and dress in layers because the weather is looking to be moderately chilly.
If you have other commitments such as theater, show up whenever you can and maybe bring some of your friends.
If you have any ideas outdoor activities we can do until the campfire, bring them! We’ll most likely be constructing the campfire most of the day.
Bring directions with you, because GPS will not work for finding the farm.
The nightly lows will be around 28 degrees. Saturday’s high is expected to be only 48 degrees. Please bring many layers including full winter coat, hat, gloves, maybe long johns. The ground will by muddy, so bring extra clothes AND SOCKS so you can change. Bring separate warm clothes for sleeping. If you can, bring two sleeping bags so you can double-bag, along with a pad. Hats and gloves are important. A hoodie is good for keeping your head warm while sleeping.
In addition to the right clothes, bring a water bottle and mess kit. It will be wet, so be sure to wear water proof boots if you have them. Also, bring work gloves to prevent splinters since we’ll be handling wood all day long.
There are no picnic tables or benches at the farm. The troop will bring folding tables, but scouts should bring a folding chair or camp chair if you have one.
Also, bring the usual stuff: water bottle and mess kit in addition to sleeping bag and sleeping pad.
