Coming up in January, we have two outstanding activities. The first is the Christmas Tree Pickup. That is Jan. 8, so mark your calendars. We really need all the help we can get for this one, so please help out even if you cannot stay the entire time.
The weekend of January 21 is our freezeout. We will be doing some sort of first aid station there. Remember that it will be January, so pack for very cold weather. We will go over proper layering and such in a future meeting.
Which reminds me… please do come to the meetings. Even if you don’t need advancement, we go over what is happening in the future, and if that doesn’t faze you, there are plenty of merit badges to earn. And if THAT isn’t interesting, you get to hang out with cool guys like me. So, I hope to see you all next Tuesday.
Be there by 12:30 PM on Sunday. It takes 90 minutes to drive there. Eat lunch before you come. The first meal at camp is dinner.
Pick-up is at 9 AM on Saturday
Here is what you need for cash:
$13 for the troop photo
No more than $20 for junk food at the Trading Post
$10 for the Electronics merit badge (3 scouts)
$20-$40 for the Robotics merit badge (2 scouts)
David Probert, Matt Flannery, and George Reimonn will be going down early on Sunday to drop off the troop trailer and set up some things in camp. If anyone needs a ride, please let us know and be prepared to leave at about 8 AM on Sunday morning.
On Saturday, June 11, we are riding the East Narragansett Bay Bike Trail from Providence to Bristol and back. This is a day trip.
Meet at the church at 8:30 AM on Saturday, June 11th. Please bring your bicycle, helmet, and water bottle. The high temperature is expected to be 72 degrees with chance of showers, so bring a long-sleeved shirt and rain jacket.

Great experience for these scouts – with full packs going through the Appalachian Trail in the Berkshires. Our shelter is called October Mountain Shelter – after a full day’s hike it was like seeing a Ritz Carlton
Our trip for November 14-15 is at Richardson’s Farm. We meet at the church on Saturday at 8 AM, or you can go directly to Richardson’s 10 AM or later.
Parents, please join us for dinner and/or the bonfire on Saturday night. Let us know if you’re coming for dinner so we can plan the food quantities. Dinner is at 4 PM with the bonfire starting around 5.
