This upcoming weekend is the hike we have been planning. We will be taking the Midstate Trail. This is an easier trail than the Appalachian Trail, both due to smoother terrain and the fact that it is not prone to becoming really muddy. We’ll meet at the church on Friday Night at 6 p.m. to give us enough time to check gear and get settled. We’ll set out early Saturday, and hike for the majority of the day. We’ll finish the hike Sunday, and head back home before it gets too late. Since it’s a school vacation week, none of the scouts will have school on Monday. The hike is set to cover about 11 miles, but this may be subject to slight changes. You can use the link at the bottom of this page to view and print the permission slip. As always, any questions can be sent to the group chat. If you want in on the group chat, shoot me an email (email@example.com) or ask at a meeting. If you are coming, be sure to bring everything you need Friday night. Refer to this post for more information on packing.
Some important tips to remember: Bring water and snacks. Ensure you have rain gear for both yourself and your backpack. Pack lightly- don’t bring anything you won’t need. Use the buddy system.
See you there,
IMPORTANT NOTE: There will be NO MEETING on Tuesday the 17th because of school vaction.
