February Ski Trip

The ski trip will be February 3rd at Mt Sunapee in New Hampshire.

To make sure everyone is together early Sunday morning, we’ll be meeting at the church on Friday, February 2nd, at 6 PM for dinner, a movie, and a sleepover.

We’ll drive to Mt Sunapee at 6 AM on Sunday morning and we’ll be home by 6:30 PM Sunday evening.

Ages 8-15, lift ticket, ski/board rental, and lesson: $85
Ages 16-higher: Lift ticket $63, rentals $39

Packing list for backpacking


  • Wear layers, jacket
  • Hat, gloves
  • Hoodie sweatshirt for sleeping
  • Extra socks
  • Wear hiking boots if possible
  • Rain poncho


  • 2 1-liter water bottles
  • Bowl from mess kit, not the whole kit
  • Spork (or fork and spoon)
  • Headlamp (important!)
  • Sleeping bag
  • Foam mat (optional)
  • Washcloth or bandana
  • Half a roll of toilet paper
  • Toothbrush

Troop will supply:

  • Food
  • Stove, pots, pans
  • Water purification
  • Tents
  • Soap
  • First aid kit

Please bring your backpack on Tuesday, April 10, packed with everything from this list.  If you are using a loaner backpack, bring all the stuff to the meeting in a trash bag and we’ll pack your pack at the meeting.

Ski Trip — February 4 at Mt. Sunapee

Our annual ski trip will be February 4th. We’re going to Mt. Sunapee in New Hampshire as a day trip. We have two cost packages:

  • Bring your own skis/snowboard: This package includes the lift ticket, use of the Hearthstone Room, breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages.
  • Rent skis/snowboard: This package includes all of the above plus ski/snowboard rental including a rented helmet.

Here are the costs:

Adults (19 and up):

  • Bring your own skis: $112
  • Rent skis/snowboard: $161

Young Adults (13-18):

  • Bring your own skis: $105
  • Rent skis/snowboard: $144

Junior (6-12):

  • Bring your own skis: $90
  • Rent skis/snowboard: $125

If you have credits from selling wreaths, you can use your credits to help pay for the trip. We’ll have information about credits at the Tuesday meetings.

July 8 — Lowell Spinners Baseball Game and Visit Boott Cotton Mills Museum

On July 8th, the troop is visiting the Boott Cotton Mills Museum in Lowell, then going to watch the Lowell Spinners baseball game against the Connecticut Tigers.

Meet at the church at 2 PM on Saturday, July 8th. We’ll return about 10:30 PM.

The trip includes hot dog, chips, and drink at the ball game. Bring a little cash if you want more to eat.

May Camping and Bicycling Trip

We’ll be camping at Camp Greenough and biking on the Cape Cod Rail Trail for our May 19-21 trip.

Meet at the church at 6 PM on Friday, May 19. Have dinner before you come or bring something to eat in the car.

Bring your bicycle, helmet, water bottle and normal camping gear. We’ll be sleeping in tents at Camp Greenough.

We’ll be back around Noon on Sunday.

Movie Night and Ski Trip — February 4-5

Our February trip is dinner / movie night at the church on Saturday, February 4. Meet at the church at 6:30 PM.

On Sunday morning, at 6 AM, the group will head to Mt Sunapee for a day of skiing. Skiing ends at 4 PM, and we expect to be back in Milford around 6-6:30 PM on Sunday, February 5.

Richardson’s Farm, November 11-12

With a holiday on Friday (with the Veterans Day parade) and Scouting for Food on Saturday, we’re carefully squeezing the Richardson’s Farm trip into Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

Meet at Richardson’s Farm on Friday, November 11,  at 2 PM. Family, friends, cub packs, and other scouting troops are welcome to join us.

We’ll be out by 10 AM on Saturday, November 12.

October 14-16 — Baseball Hall of Fame and Howe Caverns

Our October trip starts Friday night, October 14, at 7 PM at the church. We’ll have a pizza dinner and movie night and stay overnight at the church.

On Saturday morning, we’ll leave early for Oneonta and Cooperstown, NY, to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame and camp in Oneonta.

On Sunday morning, we’ll break camp and drive to Howe Caverns where we’ll take the cave tour. We’ll return to Milford after the tour and be home around 6 PM.
